Twinkle Rag (Variation 5, “Mississippi [breathe]”)
© 2006 Karen Zethmayr
The midi's tinny, I know. That's the way with midis. The oboe timbre was chosen to make parts indivudually audible.
The solo line may be learned after Twinkle variation 4.
The treble line of the accompaniment may be learned after Bach Gavotte no. 3, Book 5.
The bass of the accompaniment is for an advanced cello student.

These pages are not for reproduction (except for your own studio) or resale. They’re from a supplementary collection of music and activities I will soon have available on the internet.

Over the years we’ve taken our group sessions on the road to retirement facilities where people look forward to any opportunity to sing along. Not every facility has a piano, and even if there is one, we can’t take it with us when we stroll. I’ve gradually added accompaniments that older students and I can play. There are also a few simple ‘cello parts for parents and siblings of that persuasion. The collection will feature:

• Scope and sequence notes concerning where each piece fits with Suzuki repertory • Preparatory exercises for pieces to show how various skills are needed • Sing along favorites for retirement home visits• Accompaniments for more advanced students to play with Book 1 and 2 pieces. • A few blackline masters for games to use at home and in group sessions.

If you would like to know when the book is ready, or if you would like to receive notification as new Suzuki resources are added to this site, you can send an email to grandma@grandmaskite.com. Your email will not be sold, shared, traded, or used for any other purpose than that which you requested. As it turns out, I have been adding a topic in a parent letter about once a month for my own Suzuki families.
