Thursday, April 27, 2006, 8-8:30 p.m. Five State Story Concert: Five States, Five Tellers, Five MinutesGrandma takes part in the Northlands Storytelling Network's annual conference in Madison, WI, April 27-30, 2006. I will be telling a "fiddlin' and grinnin'" type story in the opening concert, which is Thursday evening. If you're a teacher, writer, or storyteller, check out the conference info. It's a wonderful weekend, or 1-day experience, whatever you have time for. Or come to one of the story concerts that will be open to the public.

Monday, April 17, 4 p.m., Suzuki "Play Out" at Segoe Gardens Assisted Living Center, 602 N. Segoe Rd., Madison, WI. My Suzuki violin students will perform for the residents as pre-dinner music. Part of the program consists of our usual group session activities, part is playing favorites of the residents who like to sing along. Because of the popularity of singing along as an activity, we have supplemented the Suzuki repertory with some of the standard favorites for seniors.
